If any code crackers here could help me? Thank you!

I would like to download some videos from CBS website or BBC panorama any possibility to that? I have tried to look at the page source but could not find the "CODE". Any help would be much appreciated.

The BBC severely restricts it's video. I don't live in th UK, so I have no way to watch BBC videos online. I have read that they use Windows Media DRM. I have wondered if it might be theoretically possible to download a video from the BBC (assuming you can give them a UK IP address to do so) and remove the DRM using FairUse4WM.

Similarly, I don't believe that American TV channels allow people outside of the USA to watch. Neither CBS nor the BBC may allow downloading. You may need some sort of stream capturing program to get the video and then you will have to remove the DRM from it. Very ugly.

A better method is to look for the shows online at either P2P sources or Usenet servers. You will have to subscribe to a commercial Usenet service that takes the alt.* groups to get TV shows through Usenet, but it can be an excellent way to go. Almost all shows on the "Big Four" US broadcasters (CBS, NBC, ABC and Fox) are in high def now and many shows are posted in high def on various groups such as alt.binaries.hdtv. Getting your shows from one of these sources is probably a lot less hassle than trying to download them from websites that may not allow downloading, will have DRM in them, and probably some quality limitations to support streaming media better.

Real Media is notorious in my limited experience for not being downloadable at many sites. I don't know anything about web page programming, so I don't know how they make streamable files so they can't be downloaded, I just know that this is often done. That's why I said you may need a streaming media encoder, or better yet, find someone who recorded the show off TV and posted it somewhere where you can get it. Trying to convert RAM streams is a losing proposition - Real Media quality is often horrible.

While I could probably watch the news thing you linked to, if I wanted to watch some current BBC sitcom, my understanding is that the BBC web site would tell me to get bent because my IP address doesn't come from the UK.

Thanks for your respond, as far as "BBC sitcoms" are concerned I don't think they are available to watch on BBC website, only PRopaganda is freely available

I'm surprised no one's mentioned Capture Solution for this kind of task. It can grab anything you can see & hear on your machine & save it to avi, wmv & other formats. And I do mean "anything".

Many thanks, this tool is so-o-o-o simple to use, it is like filming from the computer monitor, so I can now get shots of any thing I want, without need to crack the "CODE"! Thanks a lot m8!

Use "Replay Media Catcher". It works quite well. Demo available, cheap software ($30-40 or so). I recently got this, love it. The same company has another product, about $10 more, with more features and supported formats. It has a trial too, try it.

My pleasure. Be advised that the docs are, uh, poorly translated from the original Korean (much of it inadvertently funny). It's a great program, well worth buying.

If I can be of any help with CS, especially re: tweaking settings for best results, feel free to shout me here or via e-mail.
