I want to covert some dv tapes. Iv been using my camera (dvx 100b) to record and capture to the computer, but for some reason the camera isnt getting regonized by windows anymore on any computer, both mac and windows with different cable. Can I use another camera to capture my dv tapes to the computer without affecting the quality?

if are playing the miniDV tape through a firewire connection to a capture program such as winDV it doesn't matter what is streaming the source tape. it's digital, the ones and zeros are the same, as long as the other cam or deck can read the tape.
