    Hi guys,

My DVD player can read and play the DVD well. However, when I insert it to my PC, the PC can not recognize / play the DVD. When I use DVD-Shrink, it says "Insert the disk..." though the disk is already in the drive.

Please help me with this problem.
    Thanks,

    Mike

I've had that happen too occasionally, maybe 1 in 50-100 DVD movies, and never discovered the cause. However I have almost always been able to read such DVDs eventually by trying many times, maybe as many as 25-50 times. That's one reason why I now have two DVD drives in my PC, different brands/models, which helps to quickly rule out a drive malfunction.

It might also help to clean the DVD.

Commercial disc ? Burned disc ?
Does only Shrink have the problem ? Can you see the disc using Windows Explorer or DVDFab HD Decrypter ?

If cleaning doesn't work - you'll have to try a different drive.

Your player doesn't have a problem, just the burner.

Many burners do not make good readers - lesson learned (by me)

I have tried to clean it up, but the result has been unchanged.

That is a Musical DVD I bought from a store. Can not use any software in my PC, because even the disc is already inserted into the drive, the PC can not recognize.

    Thanks for all of suggestion.

    Hi folks,

I've experienced that my burned DVDs are working fine with my PC, but the original one are not.
    Any suggestion would be appreciated.

    Mike
