    I was unable to convert a lot of my .avi files so I went to gspot and it said all my codecs were installed but that there was this error.....

    failed to connect Output pin 0x0093ae4c ["Stream 00"] on AVI Splitter to input pin0x0093d38c ["In"] on fliter 0x0029a394f["ffdshow raw video filter"]. ConnectDirect[] failed. Error: 0x80040207: [unknown]


    I've got to get all my .avi's compressed and off my computer because it needs to be restored. I need help. Open to all suggestions.

    We need more information. Gspot tells you which codecs are needed for playback, but you mention conversion.

    Are you playing or converting? Which program are you using for playback/conversion?

    What exactly are you trying to do?

    0x80040207 means that the DirectShow couldn't find a suitable set of filters to connect your AVI Splitter's output to the ffdshow input.

    Most probably, you need an additional filter that can convert your AVI format into a format that ffdshow can use.

    What format are your AVIs?
