Are there dvd's in the U.S. That have German as one of the languages you can choose. A freind of mine has his relative in from Germany and can't find any to rent at the local Block Buster. He asked me and I had no idea so I figured I would come here and ask. You folks are always so smart when it comes to these things...
Thanks

Thanks zzyzzx
for your response. Does anyone know of any others maybe more recent?
Is the German language not on dvd's like say French and Spanish because their stuff is in pal? Why would a video format make a difference as far as language is concerned? -
NTSC alternate languages on DVD tend to be for solely for North American consumption, and the major languages spoken on North America are English (USA/Canada/Bermuda/Bahamas, etc), French (Canada/extreme northeastern USA) and Spanish (Mexico/large parts of the Caribbean/USA).

Thanks for your comments AntnyMD
What you said makes a lot of sense since I wouldn't even be wondering myself if these relatives from Germany weren't in town.
If they aren't here = I don't care. So once in 5 years I have looked for German dvd language. Yep what you said AntnyMD makes sense. Thanks for your responses...

ur best bet is to find a german based movie.
sometimes, movies produced in other countries that are brought to america are allowed to keep their orignal language.
the same is true of japanese. -
i don't know exactly, but i think
there are three movies containing the german language
stalingrad
Das Boot - The Boat
Lola rennt - Lola runs aka run lola run
( as rental videotape german with english subtitles)

rufus -
I will look for these movies today.
Again thanks to all who have replied...

Some of the Disney animated DVDs have german on them I think. If you look at http://www.inbd.com or http://www.dvdpricesearch.com they'll tell you wants on the disc. But, you'd have to look for each disc by name (no language search function).
