Is it necessary to use the Complete Erase function with the Pioneer DVR-A03 when rewriting a DVD-Video volume? Can the Fast Erase option be good enough?

  2. It's a good question. I used Nero quick-erase, then burned an updated video DVD with DVDit! The resulting DVD-RW played just fine on my Pioneer DV-440, but when I tried it
on a Mintek 2110 the video broke up into pixels and the player gave up entirely. I haven't got around to seeing whether full erase makes any difference. I should mention that the DVD-RW played fine on Mintek the first time I burned it...

    What brand was the disc?
I've noticed that the generic -RW's seem to play in my Panasonic only after one or two burns. after that, they only play in my computers DVD drive.

A Pioneer -RW disc is still going strong after more than a couple of burns.
