I have a project where I need to capture certain scenes in movies to use. What DVD ripper can I buy or get for free that will enable me to capture just clips (not the entire movie) onto my hard drive to use in a 720x480 Premiere timeline? A software that can get around the copyritght protection.
Need this info fast - THANKS!
Steve

DVD to Premiere is not that simple. Haven't Adobe included a dvd importer in newest version of premiere now?
Some methods:
Run AnyDVD in the background and cut out the clips with for example Videoredo. Save as mpg. Import in Premiere.
You could also use dvd shrink in the reauthoring mode to cut out vob clips from the DVD that you then can just try rename to mpg and import Premiere. But dvd shrink wont work on newer dvds.
You might get problem importing mpg direclty in premiere but then you can convert to avi with Virtualdub-mpeg2....but then you might get sync problems...
Better would be to use a mpeg2 editor directly like Mpeg Video Wizard.
