I have recorded 3 hours of old vhs home video onto dvd with my dvd recorder. what i want to do now, is make a best bits compilation, on my computer. I want to set it to music and i want to add a few captions here and there. So, what sort of program can i use to do this, and would i have to manually chop up segments of the main mpeg file off the dvd and then import them into a editing program or would i be able to import the whole mpeg and cut and paste bits within that editing program?
any help appreciated thanks.![]()

Thanks Baldrick, i will give that one a try. i need a tutorial for it, as i am still not sure if that will allow me to remix the main mpeg within the app or have to import all clips before hand..
