I'm trying to create my first DVD using SVCD2DVD. I've added the asset, created a simple menu, and using the "Create your DVD..." icon, selected "Make DVD...".

Proceeding slowly I left "NO, don't burn" selected and the computer went off for a long time processing my movie.

When it finished, I wanted to go to the next step and burn it but it appears there's no easy way to get there. What I was expecting was a step in "Create your DVD..." for "burn the stuff I just spent substantial time processing".

Now that I've spent some time in this forum I've figured out how to do the burn but not before I started over selecting "Yes, Burn my DVD". The computer is still processing...

I think SVCD2DVD should provide a more obvious way to do this.

    Thanks,

    Brad

  2. It is obvious - you select it at the beginning of your project.

If you already have burning software, it's easy to use that to burn the VIDEO_TS created by S2D to a DVD. Had you asked here, we could have easily shown you how. Redoing your entire project was totally unnecessary. Even if you restarted your project, the encoding step was unnecessary the next time through.

If you have ImgBurn, ChrissyBoy has "ImgBurn DVD-Video Shell Ext" available on his front page at svcd2dvd.com which will allow you to quickly burn any VIDEO_TS folder.

So there are easier ways to get there, you just needed to ask.

Thanks for the response. I think I now understand how to continue with the burning process (RTFFF )

I'd like to understand what you mean by this. I'm not sure I understand how to skip the encoding step. Can you explain or point me somewhere?

  4. The encoding step creates a new file from each asset and appends the filename with "S2D". You simply replace the original assets with the corresponding S2D files (provided you haven't set SVCD2DVD to automatically delete them) and the encoding step is skipped. S2D will see the files are already compliant and proceed to the authoring step.

If you need to burn a DVD post creation, the ImgBurn DVD-Video Shell Ext is really the best way though.
