    Hey all,

I got an RCA DRC290 5 disc DVD player that has TV Guardian on it. My thing is that I had another RCA player that had tv guardian on it as well and worked without any type of activation for it. The DRC290 has to be activated through tvguardian.com for a price of 20 bucks. Is there any type of hack or serial generator of somesort to enter a code for it so that i may be able to utilize the players tv guardian features?

    I hope not, sincerely.

The DVD-lab PRO Help File says:

People generally hate any kind of restrictions,
especially if there is no real good reason for them.

I hate restrictions as well, but this player will be used in an enviroment where language is a priority. We are not allowed to play videos that have vulgar language in it. So with this TV guardian, we are able to play the films and the vulgar language is silenced..

If you bought a TV Guardian restricted player in order to restrict the type of language heard, then surely you expected to have to pay for the service. Fork over the $20 bucks.

So, bad language is not allowed, but theft is permitted in your environment? I wouldn't think so.

You did pay for the TV Guardian feature in your previous player, but the cost was hidden from you because it was included in the price. Either that or you bought it used from someone else who had paid for the service.

I agree with RCA's choice in pricing your new player. If few people make use of this feature, why make everyone pay for it?
