Poll: Do I buy a specific company's CD-R. or get CD-RWs, or is there software that can help me?

  1. HELP ME!!!!! i'm a newbie at this .. just got a burner actually - sweet one though ... TDK 24 10 40 ... anyway that's not hte point .. the point is .. i tried to burn a vcd .. converted the avi with tmpgenc (just did that the other day - i learn fast haha) ... anyway and then i burned with nero... it WORKS on my dvd rom in my computer but won't work with my dvd player...

    i used CD-R from compusa ... i have tdk CD-R but haven't bothered trying on that after reading that my dvd player is a b*tch when it comes to reading vcds on CD-R

    i need HELPPPPP - which brand CD-R do i buy to make it work?? or is there any software that can get around the problem? ORRR am i going to HAVE to buy CD-RWs ... i read some stuff in the comments section but there's conflicting points --- PLEASE HELP A NEWBIE

  3. hey.. yeah the player's main strength is its 2-disc changer. It can play vcd's and can also play some xvcd's, only when the bitrate is pushed up, you can't change the standard vcd resolutions or else it won't play it.
    Try some cd-rw's, it doesn't like playing cd-r's. It played a few cd-r's but it skipped every 30 secs, with the cd-rw's it rarely skips during vcd's and skips approx once every 15 mins with xvcd's.
