Is there a way to do this with my ace program TPMGEnc DVD Author 3? The DVD I have is made from a VHS that's a 2 or 3 generation copy from the master VHS, and I want to make the DVD a little better looking without re-encoding to a lossy format.
And maybe at the same time fix the volume which is a little low. I am open to other programs, by the way.

You will have to re-encode to make any changes to the video. You can demux the audio, sweeten it, and remux it. I believe you can change the volume without re-encoding the audio but if you want to use any filter other than normalize you'll have to re-encode.

What format will make it lose the least amount of quality and what program do I use to convert it?
