I'm totally confused! I thought I had installed enough stuff to make this work, but guess not!
I'm on W2K so last WMP avail is 9 (AFAIK)...fine...and I just installed ffdshow based on comments from another forum related to file manager app that should preview it if WMP will play it...but that didn't help either.

When I view either of the two files that I've got that have the FLV4/VP62 showing via GSpot, they don't show any handling of the video part in "proposed" unlike the FLV1 files...so guess that's part of issue? Also, it shows as "VP6F" in VLC but "VP62" in GSpot? Huh?

I can play these FLV4 files via Riva Player or the Applian Player (and VLC), but I'd like to get system set so that GSpot can do it as well as WMP.

This whole codec/filter thingy has me totally baffled at this point...as I see entries that seem to be needed (via GSpot displays), but something is still amiss...it shows that file goes thru FLVSplitter.av but then into audio only.

Hope someone can follow my wanderings and give me a pointer on what to do...thanks in advance!

Either install the VP62 codec on your computer, or
configure ffdshow to handle VP62 video. But if none of these
has been working, then your problem is more serious than it seemed.

Ok, so I went looking and found at http://www.moviecodec.com/downloads/16d.html a VP6 decoder, so dl'd it and installed...still no difference!
And in ffdshow video decoder config, I see VP6 (VP62) and VP6F (FLV4) listed as "libavcodec", so it appears that it knows of them...any other ideas?

BTW, my current WinAmp also plays it just fine...but GSpot and WMP don't..

Addendum/Upd: Media Player Classic also doesn't do it...I added External Filters for ffdshow and FLV as my guess but no effect.

  4. What's You version FLV Splitter?
Old version (original Gabest filter) can't handle VP6F.
    You try latest clsid build?

Maybe because Winamp have internal decoder (plugin) for VP6.

You tray latest clsid build with active internal FLV splitter?

I hadn't known that my FLV Splitter was old! Thanks! After updating that, GSpot was able to handle it just fine!

I suspected as such, but it's good to know that fact...

I was running what I thought was the latest vers (which I was, but the "original" path mod), but after your reply, I looked again and saw that a variant 'fork' was created that was more recent, which I'd not noticed before, so installed that and now it works also!

BTW, the file also now plays just fine in WMP also! Success at last!

I was working on this for quite some time yesterday and was getting quite confused/frustrated so I REALLY do appreciate the help! Thanks again!
