Quote "The TV Genie by AVerMedia (approx. USD 110.) and the Instant TV by AIMS Lab (USD 130.) are separate TV tuner units that are installed outside a personal computer. Each product is about the size of a paperback book. They play NTSC TV broadcasts, NTSC cable TV, and video from externally connected sources."
I would like to hook one of these up to a 22" LCD monitor with 1680x1050 resolution.
What kind of picture can I expect ?

~640x480 effective resolution, 4:3 display aspect ratio
or about 640x360 effective resolution, 16:9 display aspect ratio
Actually, since your in an NTSC country, you'll get even less vertical resolution because you'll have to deinterlace.
