The computer I'm currently using won't be here by the end of the week and I have a ton of music and videos on it. Is it possible to save all this data to some external disc and upload it to another computer?

Assuming you have USB ports, borrowing an external USB hard drive or buying one would be the easiest and quickest way and literally copy the entire contents to the new drive
If you know a bit about computers, you could connect another hard drive to a spare IDE cable, if not just disconnect your DVD/CD drive and put the hard drive in its place, format it, and again simply copy the contents of what you want to it
The external HD would be the best way if you are unsure about messing with the inside of your computer, plus it means you will also have an external hard drive for storage or files that are not reliant on speed of access -
You could also hook up both computers (new and old) to the same router, and directly transfer the files over the network - no need for discs or hard drives.
