Is there any piece of equipment that will let me capture without having to sit at my computer (and at a reasonable price).
I was thinking there may be something similar to the external drive media centers that allow could this but can't find anything.
Basically I need to capture around 2000 video clips running at 10 seconds each.

you could always use a dvd recorder.

if you have a pvr like a tivo you might be able to that with a record in option. Though it might be useless without a computer to transfer it off the device again.
