    hi guys:
    my son just bought an hd video camera ,and even if he has vegas as a video editor , he clames he need this program
    that capture hd footage (or maybe is some plug in for vegas) the name is:
    (formerly) Connect HD
    (now named) NEO HDV.
    does anybody know of an alternative to this software?
    basically any software that capture hd footage from a hd cam will do it!

    Sony Vegas edits HDV just fine. Tell your son to read the manual.

    well my son told me that vegas is the best hd editor out there,but he insist that to CAPTURE the footage from the camera in hd he needs the plug in

    Maybe it's AVCHD footage from a camera other than Sony. Vegas only supports Sony AVCHD cameras and not competing brands.......................typical Sony Logic.

    There are ways around that problem, but it can get complicated..........
    Got my retirement plans all set. Looks like I only have to work another 5 years after I die........
