    Is Neo worth the extra $170 to get First Light alone? I know it depends on what you are doing. I'm just looking at the money. If I just buy Neoscene can I upgrade to Neo down the road and get a price break?

    I don' t think you can get a discount, but I would ask customer support for confirmation

    Personally I don't think First Light is worth it, but some people do

    It depends on what you are doing

    If you just need an intermediate for snappier editing, then there is a free version of cineform (since go pro brought them out). It doesn't have hd link or utilities, but you can do the conversions in vdub for example (it includes a VFW codec so you can access it in vdub, avspmod)
