What kind of file was the original download?

My guess is that it was some sort of AVI file probably in DivX or XviD format.

Open the file up using GSpot and do a screen grab and post it here.

Will be much easier to go back to the source ... correct the audio ... then feed it to ConvertXtoDVD for a new conversion.

    P.S.
Here is a link to a guide that explains how to do a screen grab and then post it here:

ConvertXtoDVD can increase the volume when it encodes. Just go to the Audio tab under Preferences/Settings.

Well there you go ... just feed the original downloaded AVI file into ConvertXtoDVD and do what guns1inger said to do.

I didn't realize ConvertXtoDVD had that feature.

I admit I have it and use it from time to time but not very often ... only when I am "lazy" and have a ton of files to convert (like a bunch of TV episodes).

It is a fairly recent addition, along with some very dubious filters (Deinterlacing, for one)

You can demux aka demultiplex the audio from the original video file. That means you extract the audio to an audio only file.

Then you can manipulate the audio and in this case you probably want to normalize the audio to the 0.0db reference level.

There are multiple ways to do this and no one way is necessarily better than the next ... it mostly depends on what kind of file you have and what kind of audio you have to work with i.e., the formats or codecs etc.

Do you still have the AVI file that you downloaded? If so then we can continue ... after you post an image of the file loaded into GSpot.

I already mentioned this once and had you done it when I first asked we still wouldn't be here. So just do it already.

Refer to my first post in this thread for a link that describes how to snap a screen shot of GSpot and then how to post it here. That guide tells you all you really need to know to get that much done.
