  1. I am going to use avidxpress to edit on a pc. What would be the best operating system to use windows xp or vista ultimate?

    At the moment, I would stick with XP Pro. You get better use out of your computing resources, don't have any playback restrictions on HD video, and all your software will run on it.

    Avid is very specific about the hardware and software it reccommends. Vista isn't listed yet.

    It is not a Vista world yet. Therefore, in the interest of functionality and reliability, I would stay with XP. I know all my programs work well on XP, bit Vista is questionable.
