Im trying to burn movie files that are in mpg format that I use to burn on to a CD-R in Nero 5.5 as svcd. I now have a new Lg super multi dvd burner and want to burn these files onto a dvd that will play in a standalone player now. In Nero 5.5 i use to have the option of turning off the standard compliance under the SVCD when it checks the file and would burn anyways, the movie will still play. I want to do the same thing using a DVD but the new Nero 7 doesnt have a way to turn off the compliance and continue. If im missing something or just am useign the wrong program any help would be appreciated.

Nero is okay for burning, not so great at authoring. Try using a dedicated authoring program like guifordvdauthor then burn with imgburn...or nero (if you absoluletly have to).

Audio in SVCD is 44.1Khz,
Audio in DVD is 48Khz,
You will find tools that accept to author DVDs with "SVCD compliant" MPEG stream, but you will have to resample the audio. -
Which tools offer Authoring with svcd compliant ? Does that mean that it will burn a mpg stream as a dvd or encode it as svcd compliant ? What program is good at resampling the audio ? Im new at this with all the terms but authoring means burning or converting ?
Just as an example i would have to do the following :
take the mpg file and resample audio and save as a file
encode or convert the video with "guifordvdauthor" and save as file
then use img burn to make the dvd ?
Whats the normal process time for each disc ? 5-10 mins or 30-45 mins ?
I appreciate all the help -
Here is a good place to start.
