    Any number of cards or external capture devices will work for halo2 .

    But that device isn't "vivo / capture" type .

    Where is game coming from ?

    Xbox = fine
    Xbox360 = fine , though watch out for game's using interlace output such as "gears of war"
    From pc = never say never , but your pushing it , if using loop back type setup .

    From one pc to another = fine
    From pc to tv out , record to vcr = fine
    Same , but dvd recorder = problems
    Same , but cam type device = problems , some will , some don't .

    Capture cards :

    Avermedia dvd ezmaker pci / gold = simple , seems to handle "gears of war = xbox360 title" interlace with exception .
    Have usb2 units that outperform others in quality but higher cpu spec's required (amd2400 runs just above 2gig/mhz) .

    Leadtek WinFast DTV1000 , supports dvb ... will be testing for interlace input .

    There are also a number of "cheap" pci devices , but quality can be varied .
    Sourced from ebay , tigerdirect , others .

    There are also "hardware" encoders , good for low end systems .

    Ask yourself 2 questions .

    A : Hardware or software encoder (hardware good for lower ended systems)

    B : Future proof , selected device must support (pal-60 / nstc-59 if xbox360 is on future plans ) = ask manufacture , check drivers for current os .
