What program did you use to convert it?
    Has that method worked before?
Does it play on the computer?
What brand of DVD media are you using?
Have you used that brand successfully before?
What brand and model is your DVD burner and your DVD player.?

    Two common causes:

Poor quality DVD media or media that's not compatible with your burner or your player.
The program you used to create the DVD did not make a DVD compliant VIDEO_TS folder and files.

'The disc is dirty' is probably just another way of saying the player can't read the disc.

Try a different brand of DVD media.
Try a different program to make your DVD VIDEO_TS folder.
Try a different burning program, like ImgBurn.

Less likely, your burner has a problem or your player does.

Give us some more information and you will likely get some specific suggestions.

    And welcome to our forums.

What program did you use to convert it?

I have used WinAVI to convert the files into .VOB (video_TS) files.

    Has that method worked before?

Yes, it has, but I used my friend's mac computer to burn them by iToast.

Does it play on the computer?

Yes, I am able to play it on my computer. I can see the video and hear the audio perfectly.

What brand of DVD media are you using?

By that you mean what brand the DVD discs are, right? I am using Dynex and Sony DVDs.

Have you used that brand successfully before?

Yes, I have used Dynex and Sony, and I never had a problem like this.

What brand and model is your DVD burner and your DVD player.?

    DVD burner: Cheetah Burner.
DVD player: Sony. Model: (I am clueless) DVP NS, it says in the back.

And the media quality is pretty good, and the Video_TS folder was done properly, I think.

And I will try ImgBurn as you suggested

Truly, thanks so much for trying to help me. I appreciate that!! And thanks for welcoming me. ^^

If you're not aware of it, WinAVI has a fairly poor reputation around here. I would try a different program. Currently, ConvertXToDVD seems to be the most stable and dependable for all-in-one conversion programs. But there are freeware converters that will do better than WinAVI, such as FAVC or DVD Flick for a couple of possibilities.

Your brands of media may still be a problem. Cheaper media tends to be inconsistent in quality. And that can cause problems at times. The label or brand of the media is not often the manufacturer. If you look here you will see how to find out who made it and how it works for others: https://www.videohelp.com/dvdmediaform.php?dvdinfo=1#dvdinfo Then you look in 'DVD Media' to the left and try searching with that media code.

And ImgBurn, though freeware, seems to be about the best burning program out there.

    I shouldn't have purchased the WinAVI. >.>

You are very knowledgeable. ^^ I will first try to buy ConvertXToDVD or try their trial version [or use the other you mentioned] and use ImgBurn. Hopefully that might work. I will keep everything you said it mind. Thank you!!

But I have a question, do you know if ConvertXToDVD works with rmvb files?

Yes, it does. There used to be a trick with them - having to move certain .dll files to a specific location - but I believe you don't have to do this anymore.
