    Can anyone help me? I have bought a Acer Laptop and just took it out of the box.
    It wants a password to start. I assume the dealer has done this. The password hint is "small brown fruit same as before"

    The store has closed for the night, so I'm hoping some genius will be able to guess the password. BTW, I've looked in the instructions and there is no mention of a password.
    Please, someone, come up with a suggestion. Thanks

    Is this a bios password or the windows administrator ? If it is the XP administrator password then there are several standalone linux based boot discs that can overwrite it with a blank so you can log yourself in. My concern would be that the shop hasn't finished working on it yet, which is why the password is still there.
