I just encoded an avi with tmpgenc and it went through.
Now when I go to encode wmv or avi to an avi, I get an error "an error occurred when video was encoded"
Directshow does show up....but only for a brief second. I can use VirtualDub, but I want to try it with tmpgenc. Anyone know why I'm getting the error? I do have Directshow on my top priority.

Which version of tmpgenc are you using? It is an MPEG ENCODER so I don't believe the 2.5 plus version will let you go from avi to avi. I'm also not sure it is able to read wmv in the 2.5 version.
There are other versions of tmpgenc like tmpgenc express or the tmpgenc dvd author 3 that offer much more input sources than the 2.5 mpeg encoder version. Please state the exact version of your tmpgenc software and someone here should be able to let you know what conversions you can do with it.Donatello - The Shredder? Well if you ever encoded anything with TMPGenc and have DirectShow Filter...TMPGenc uses Directshow codec to read and encode the video.
I have the current version of TMPGenc Plus. Well I really don't know what the hell happened really. One moment I could encode a video...the next moment I couldn't. I like to have control in my encoding and that's why I use TMPGenc. I use VirtualDub too, but I like TMPGenc cause it sync's video and audio VERY well. Anyone else have this error before?
