Ive just upgraded to a 1.2gighz Celeron CPU and can finally use
    Cinema Craft Encoder 250

Ive read the User Guide and all the online docs and faqs i could
find.... but i still have a slight prob.

Ive specified (video 1150 kps CBR SS MPEG1) (audio 224kps stereo 44khz)

I'm frameserveing with either DVDx (.avs) and or TMPEG (.tpr convert
    to .avi using VFAPI)

MY problem is, i've specified CBR but when inserting the final .MPG
into 'ULEAD DVD MOVIEFACTORY' it says its a Variable Bit Rate (VBR)

Windows Media Player > Mpeg Video Decoder Properties Says its
115000 bitrate (which is correct, but does not display info about CBR or VBR)

Ligos Mpeg Decoder > properties says its 115000 (VBR) ??????

WHat the hell am i doing wrong ?? Ive Selected CBR MPEG 1 1150 in CCE
and im Getting a VBR mpeg ??

Thanks to anyone who can shed some light on this subject.

  2. Well for starters....I really would advise using TMPG for Mpeg1 VCD at CBR of a bitrate that low. CCE is really more suited for mpeg2...

now having said that, CBR with CCE is truly a very confined VBR. Ive looked at a bitrate of a CBR with CCE with bitrate viewer and found that it truly flucuates slightly..which may be why Ulead reads it as being VBR.

Actually this isnt just a problem with cce, its with mpeg encoding in general. All encoders have slight fluctuations in bitrate when encoding in vbr. I believe the only way to get true cbr is to encode in vbr with min, max, and avg all equal, and even then there still might be some fluctuation.
