How come watching Div x movies is possible on dreamcast and not on psone ? without a card

two things to say about this one:
1.) DiVX is not playable on PS1, even with a card....vcds are playable on playstation one with a card, divx is not

2.) Dreamcast is lightyears ahead of the original playstation as far as computing power goes, and decoding full FMV from DiVX is quite processor intensive

That's right. The PSX has very low computing power and in my mind, it's an absolute techinical marvel that games for it can look as good as they do.

In fact, the PS1 doesn't even have enough computing power to decode VCD standard MPEG-1 real-time (which is why it needs to have an add-on).

I know you can play a VCD on a Dreamcast. But how do you play a DiVx on a dreamcast?

You cant play divx on a dreamcast you must rencode to mpeg1 and use gyplay or rencode to sofdec and use that piece of $hit hack they call the dreamcast divx player.
