  1. Can anyone tell me how I might use the keyboard shortcuts for play and pause are in an rm video while simultaneously typing in a Word document? The shortcuts word when RealPlayer is the main window, but when my main window is Word, the shortcuts stop working (for obvious reasons, but I'm just wondering if there is some way to use at least the shortcut for pause while also typing in Word).

You could use Alt-Tab to switch focus to RealPlayer, pause (or whatever) and Alt-Tab to switch back to Word again.

Give QuicKeys a try. It lets you set keys for any kind of action/set of actions, even in multiple applications.

  4. Folks, Alt-Tab doesn't work for me. It directs from Word to Firefox and from RealPlayer to Firefox, not from Word to RealPlayer and vice versa. I downloaded Quickeys but the help files seem useless; I don't know how to set up keys.

Each time you press Alt-Tab, it cycles through each of your running applications in turn, so you might have to press several times to get to where you want if you have several apps open. Not ideal, I know, but it ought to work.
