Hi All,
Is there a certain way to import .PSD file from photoshop into Dvd Lab Pro (NTSC) without loosing quality? Should the .PSD file be at a certain resolution before its imported? What setting should be used (Normal, Sharp, Jitter)?
I also have some Hi-Res photos I take with my Canon 20d, and I noticed the quality just isn't there when I import them into the menu section of DVD Lab Pro. Does anyone know the movie industry is using to creating hi-res images on commercial DVD menus?
Thanks.
Matt

4:3 should be 720 x 540 with square pixels. For 16:9 use 960 x 540 with square pixels. This is for menus only. DLP uses these resolution because it is simple to then resize for NTSC or PAL.
There is no "industry standard" for putting high resolution photos on DVD - you can't do it. All images will be scaled to 720 x 480/576 during encoding. You best option is to scale to this resolution in Photoshop so you can sharpen if necessary.
The best way to work for DLP is to create your menus using the appropriate non-square pixel resolution in Photoshop, then at the last moment link all layers and re-size the image to one fo the above for importing into DLP. This is pretty much how I work and have no issues with the quality.Read my blog here.
