  1. Trying to make a slideshow w/ DVDslideshowGUI and am having a few problems.

Is there any way to make a show without having a background? I would like the pictures to fill the entire tv screen when viewed...

Also, I added subtitles to a few of the slides, but that run a little fast and are hard to read. I know I can adjust the picture durations, but if I could just adjust the subtitles to where they pop as soon as the image appears and do not disappear until it's gone. Sometimes it seems like it either pops up too late or disappears too fast.

    Any suggestions?

  2. The background can not be removed, but it can be covered totally, which will result in the same thing...

Under 'Options/Presets' If your images are the same size as the slideshow size, just type in '0' in safeX and safeY here:

If your images do not have the same size as the slideshow size, then you can do as above(to get rid of the safesize function) and the use the animation feature to zoom into images until they cover your background.

The subtitles are shown in the length of the 'Exposition'(slide length in frames without transitions). Be aware that the preview often is not realtime and therefore the lengths af subtitles are not shown correct. But they will be when rendered.

If you want to have other subtitle timings ect. you can export the subtiles in various formats from Dsg and work with them in subtitle softwares: https://www.videohelp.com/tools/sections/subtitle. Subtitle Workshop is nice...

And then ex. Gui for dvdauthor or Dvdauthor Gui can be used to add the corrected subtitles to your mpg and making a dvd.

  3. Ok, cool. I wasn't sure if adjusting the safey and x would work or not.

I ended up deciding to just lengthen the slides that have subtitles(only some have subtitles) and therefore adjusted the problem that way.

However, I exported to .mpg my completed slideshow and it was messed up. Some of the slides click through instantly about half a second or less. I have all images set to an exposition of which is like 1 second, supposed to be. But when I export the final product to .mpg it comes out different timings. I went back and checked all my expositions and they are all... any idea?

    Thanks for the help!

  4. Are you aware that the value of 'exposition' is in frames, so 100 means in Pal(25 fps) 4 sec?

If 'exposition' is 1 then the slide is only visible(without transition) for 1/25 sec(Pal).

  5. Yes, I have most slides set at 40 and the ones with subtitles set at 55. I dunno, maybe it was just a glitch or some crap. I'll try again.

    Thanks

  6. I figured out it was because I was playing the exported video on a newer version of WMP. It runs fine on WMP Classic.
