Build quality not brilliant but for the price (£99) you get amazing features.

It seems to play all formats including DVD-R

Burned a mpeg2(SVCD) and mpeg2(DVD) files on a CD-R. A 'Explorer' type window comes up and you just select the file and it will play it! (I suppose this is miniDVD)

How do I create the miniDVD to autoplay..i.e. is there a certain file structure or is there any software that allows (mini)DVDs to be burned on CD-Rs??

No its not, miniDVD is simply DVD Format burned onto a CDR/RW, DVD format is udf/iso 9660 brudge mode.
