  1. Hi, I’m a new to all of this and was wondering how I can rip the sound from a Quicktime mov and add it to the video of an avi file without loosing the quality of either?

  2. I am not sure if there is a better way to demultiplex a Quicktime movie. But if faced with the same problem, I would do the following.
To get the sound from Quicktime file:
Open the Quicktime file in Adobe Premiere and render only the audio and save it. (or)
Open the Quicktime file in TMPGEnc and File -> Output to File -> WAVE file. You can find the Quicktime plugin for TMPGEnc on www.doom9.net download section.

Open the AVI file using VirtualDub. Click on Video -> Direct Stream Copy. Click on Audio -> WAV Audio. Select the Wave file you just created. Save Output as AVI.

However be warned there may be serious sync issues which you will have to deal with separately.

  3. That helped me out allot, thanks. I have also found out why none of my avi’s have any sound and fixed this. That will make this the first and (hopefully) last time that I will need to do this
