Every time I burn AVI s to a vcd I get the same issues with the audio being out of sync. The video starts ok with the audio in sync but as is progresses the audio gets more out of sync. Am I doing something wrong when burning. I have been using Nero Vision. Cheers

Use some better method. Read up on "AVI to VCD" under Convert left. Use TMPGEnc to encode. Use VCDEasy to author.
And face it - Not all AVIs are suitable to convert to anything else. If the AVI audio is VBR, many encoders gets confused and produce sync problems as you describe. Solution is to extract the audio to wav first, and use the wav as audio source. But then you may introduce a constant offset you may have to compensate for.
