I have many , many video musics in mpg2 format because my multimedia device is with it compatible. The mpg4 (avi) I have only some.
Not long time and I will replace my box to new one compatible with hdtv and mpg4.
I will think about converting my videos to official hdtv standard files (without changing resolution of course).
Do you know the software which will be able to use to convert from mpg/avi to new standard? What soft what codec ?

It is important to use by this soft 100% compatibility with standard hdtv used for example in hdtv satellite broadcast because all will be playable using integrated decoder in hardware chip (not pc computer) created using this standard. None vobs but transport stream or maybe other like mpg where I will can add some audio track.

If you have some hints please help.

    Edit.
I have forgotten. It will be used in 32bit windows xp system.

Thanks. Could you suggest me a freeware codec , which will let me check the result of conversion on the pc in vlc or maybe ms mediaplayer.
I have installed ffdshow but it is working only with MP Classic , but it does not let me check quality of video. Only vlc has enough video quality , but it does not want to play with this codec.

Elecard product seems to be good. 15000 frames is enough for each video music. The only problem I see with "water mark" added in left upper corner of encoded video.
