Hey, newbie here so go easy on me LOL
I am TRYING to import videos I got from youtube and I used vixy.net to rip them. They are downloaded from there as AVI files. But when I import them to wmm, the first clip is fine but the other ones are green and only have sound!
This is driving me NUTS. My hubby is a webmaster and geek, but sadly "KNOWS NOTHING ABOUT VIDEO" and tells me to go look it up. I TRIED that. NOTHING.
HELLLLLLPP!!!!!

Are you putting them into WMM only to edit them? The only decent output from WMM is DV AVI if you want to go to MPEG or DVD. If you are not editing in WMM, I would skip it entirely.
You might drop one of them into Gspot 2.70 and see what information it shows about them. WMM if fairly limited on what types of files it can open. From what I see about vixy.net, they could be AVI/MOV/MP4/MP3/3GP.
Some formats like Xvid are poor choices for editing. And the less conversions you do, the better the end quality will be.
The green problem is often a codec problem, but it would depend on what codec your files are using.
So, identify your 'AVI' format and let us know if you are editing or what steps you are using to process the files and what you plan to do with the files as a final product.
And welcome to our forums.
