Hi Peeps, I'm new to this forum. MOve this thread if it's in the wrong place. Trying to use Vista's DVD maker to burn a DVD and it's taking forever. It's been 90 mins and it's only 5.3% done. I got my video off my Canon HV20 HD camcorder.

    System specs:

    Intel Quad Core CPU
    4 gigs of ram
    Vista Premium
    2 TB of HDD space.

    Any ideas? Or reccs?

I would try convert another video source(not any hd) with Vista DVD maker to see if it's the hd video that causes the very slow converting.

And try use another software to convert the hd video to dvd like ConvertXToDVD, Ulead DVD Moviefactory, Ulead DVD workshop, Tmpgenc dvd author 3.

And welcome to our forum! and this forum works fine for hd dv conversions to dvd.

  3. Windows DVD Maker *is* horrifically slow. I've tried it a couple of times but quickly reverted to my pre-Vista world for DVD encoding!
