Ive been getting this error as of the last couple of days.

"A Problem has occured with the disc. Check the Disc."

What happens is, I can record onto a disc, and when I press stop or the disc is full, the recorder just resets, ejects the disc and spits up this error. Ive tried two different brands of disc. Memorex and Phillips. Discs are DVD-R. I havent had issues like this with this machine before and although ive never used the Philips brand, ive used Memorex with success.

What could it be?

JVC is notorious for only "liking" certain brands of media..
So if the one brand worked without any problems , just use those..
Use the others as frizbees...
If one brand works, don't switch brands because it's "cheaper" or whatever..
It ends up costing more.

This has NOTHING to do with the JVC.
It has EVERYTHING to do with the quality of disc.

Memorex and Phillips are almost always CMC.
CMC is almost always crap.
Even when Memorex and Phillips are not CMC, they are still usually crap.

Use VERBATIM or TAIYO YUDEN media.

The end-of-disc problems are classic disc issues. It existed long before DVD recorders were around.

Okay. I guess the only solution is to try that.

I find it weird that a recorder that has shown no issues in the past is reacting this way all of the sudden to 2 different brands of discs.

Bought some Verbatium discs, and 3 recordings later no problems have poped up. No weird stupid messages, no random ejecting or anything.

I find it really werid that 2 separate spindles of discs could cause that much problem. But alas they were just all crap.
