    Hey,

I just got my HDMI cable, and now whenever i use Auto/ or manually select 1080i upscalling i get a single thick vertical line at the end left of the LCD and even the movie flicker and jerks....

I re-inserted the cable, but still same thing - It happens on all DVD's.
And yes my LCD is 32" Samsung Bordeux (1366 x 768)

Please also tell how to turn-off progressive with HDMI cable transmission.

ANy idea why am not able to switch 1080i ?

PS: The picture get displayed flawless upto 720P only.

The actual TV model number would be helpful. However, since your LCD is basically 720p resolution anyway, I doubt you would get a better picture from a source that is upconverted (dvd player) to 1080i and then down converted (TV) to fit your LCD resolution. Even with a true HD 1080i signal, your TV has to downconvert to match your screen.

Are you talking about player settings or TV settings?

That player only supports 1080i, not 1080p. Are the settings inconsistent?
    Call Sony support.

I guess i got the problem on my NS76(Via HDMI),

When i switch the resolution to 1080i, the progressive light is still glowing, so its not getting turned-off which it should i think and hence jerks and vertical lines problem me getting on my LCD(1366x768)

U all owners of NS76 - plz tell when ur player is outputting 1080i, does the progressive light automatically gets off,i.e, progressive gets off by default? As in mine its not getting off at all...

I remember reading about the false progressive indicator before. It's not a matter of turning it on or off, the player doesn't support 1080p.

And FWIW, the issue isn't just with your Sony and Samsung products. I have the same issue with my Oppo 971 and my Hitachi TV. 480i/p and 720p work fine, TV will not sync on the 1080i signal.
