Why do I keep seeing references to something called AnyDVD Ripper?
I've been using AnyDVD for several months now....never came across any such animal named AnyDVD Ripper.

  2. AnyDVD Ripper is simply a reference to the ripping engine inherent in AnyDVD. Look at the release notes for AnyDVD and you'll see lots of references to "AnyDVD ripper":

    - New (DVD): AnyDVD ripper rewritten from scratch. It is no
longer based on FixVTS code. If you want more control
(stream selection, main movie only selection, ...) we
    recommend CloneDVD2 available at http://www.slysoft.com
    - New (DVD): AnyDVD ripper can now handle heavily protected discs
    - New (DVD): AnyDVD ripper output is now fully compatible with
    DVD Shrink and Nero Recode

Right-click on the red fox in your systray. You'll see "Rip Video DVD to Harddisk...'". That is the AnyDVD Ripper. It was not originally part of AnyDVD. When it was added it was based on old FixVTS code but now it's based on the CloneDVD copy engine that Slysoft has now licensed from Elaborate Bytes.
