Hd dvd -> dvd-r???

I've been buying some HD DVD's to expand my collection, and the fuckers scratch easily in the XBOX 360 HD Player

I was wondering if its possible to go from HD DVD to HD Content on a DVD-R and play back through the XBOX 360

HD DVD > HD Content on a DVD-R(or 2 or 3 if nessicary) > XBOX 360??

Currently it is impossible IMO. But you can experiment. Cut the streams (how? well, i don't know) try to add all other necessary files, burn as data DVD (or Video DVD, if it is at all possible) try to play...
Use DVD RW if they are supported in xbox and so on.
I think there is no application which can do it at the moment. If you can cut enough short chunks you can use last version of Ulead movie factory (I think) to author HD DVD, but only mpeg2 files. If they are h.264 - well I don't know.
