  1. Hey all.....semi-newbie here with a screen capture question.

After reading miles and miles of FAQ's, I can now capture videos from youtube and similar sites using unplug, VideoDownloader, and DownloadHelper. Awesome.

Now, I'm wondering what the difference is between all of those youtube type sites and this site that does not allow me to capture the video: http://www.nbc.com/Saturday_Night_Live/uncensored.shtml

I couldn't capture it directly so I tried Camtasia. The video quality is decent but it seems that I can get the best quality (since these videos are normally of lower quality to begin with) when I capture the video directly, rather than record the screen. Also, if I can download it, I get the video at the native frame size, rather than slightly-less-than the frame size which is dictated by Camtasia's window that you define for the capture area. This isn't the first time this has happened. It's cool for short videos, but since Camtasia captures real-time, it is not very convenient for much longer videos that I've tried to capture.

So I thought a flash player was a flash player was a flash player. Evidently not. Any ideas?

    Thanks for your time.

  2. Also, Camtasia (and another screen cap software I used...can't remember the name) seem to be very choppy on full-screen videos. What frame rate should I be capturing at?

    Thanks!
