A friend of mine was in a bad accident on Wednedsay. Someone not looking pulled out in front of him on his motorcycle. He is in critical condition in hospital with head injuries but we are hopefull that he will be ok.
I am doing a collection at work for him, as he is likely to be in hospital for some time, thought a media player would be good to relieve the boredom.
I am after something that will play xvid and divx without having to mess about with reencoding, and obviously jpeg and mp3. 40GBish hard drive for round about the £200 mark.
Done a bit of searching and the Archos AV500 seems to get pretty rave reviews. Amazon have it for a pretty good price too

Would welcome any other opinions though for portable media players
Thanks
