    1. Extract the ISO file to your hard drive
    2. Burn the ISO image to a DVD disc with ImgBurn

Assumptions: the ISO file is an image of a DVD; you use the correct type of disk (-R/RW, +R/RW) for your DVD burner and DVD player

I would also assume you have extracted the .rar files to a single ISO file.

To unpack a multi-volume archive in WinRAR select ALL the files, then use 'Extract To' button. You can also unpack VIDEO_TS folder from ISO file using WinRAR. Useful for testing or just to be sure you burn it in the right software.

Or test the ISO in VLC before burning.

  6. what about using nero? The reason why I ask is because I just burned an iso image file that was extracted from a dvd but when I popped it into my player, it didn't play as a dvd movie.

chkdg8, you generally extract a MPEG or DVD or other file from a ISO. A ISO or image file is a container that can hold about any type of file, similar to a .rar. The advantage is that all the files within the ISO are enclosed by the single container. But the VIDEO_TS folder already encloses the DVD files in one package or folder.

A .rar file is generally split into small segments, which are rejoined by the extraction program to a single file. This was used originally to transmit large files over slow internet connections. With the proper associated files, such as PAR files, there is some error checking and missing file recovery included. If the extracted file is a ISO, then that is just another container. Boxes within boxes within boxes.

Nero can burn image files. but ImgBurn seems to do a better job and it's freeware.

You can use DVD Decrypter to burn ISO / IMG Files to DVD - Plus its free.
Its under Tools then under ISO choose write to burn to DVD or read to create an ISO file on your hard drive. Easy as that really.

For WinRAR select (double click) the first file of the set and then hit "extract to" and select a place to put the completed file. No need to highlight all the files at all. I use ImgBurn to do all my DVD ISOs, but Ashampoo, Nero, etc. should also work.
