  1. I just received an off brand(Transcend) SD card for my digital camera(Canon SD450). It's a 4GB card. I bought such a large one because, if any of you own a Canon digital camera you know how large the video sizes are. So I put it in, take a lot of test videos/pictures to make sure it transfers ok. Because I had heard there is a possibility of corrupted files and things like that moreso on the offbrands. So, it was working fine until we recorded about a 9 minute video(which is about 975MB filesize). When I went to transfer the file it said it couldn't do it. So I tried every single way to transfer and it just wouldn't do it. Finally, I just cut the file in half(with a simple cut/edit tool built within the camera) and transfered it in two seperate 400-500MB files. And then just spliced them back together on the PC.

My question is, would say a Sandisk 4GB card have the same transfer issues when transferring nearly 1GB+ videos? Because I can refund this card and purchase a Sandisk if it'll work right...

    Anyone know?

SD cards above 2gb are compatible with a new standard. Suggest you are hitting an incompatibility.

Transcend is a member of the SD association, if it has the SDHC logo on the card it is likely the results are the same as you would have with San Disk.

You probably should return the card and get two 2gb cards.

  4. The card has been working fine now. So i'm not sure what the deal was. But it's a great card so far.

    Thanks
