I recently record a video from my camera to my pc using virtualdub. The video have a length of 1h06 and 80 gig of size and have a resolution of 720*480.

I burn it to dvd using nerovision. The image quality is good but I dont like the menu editor in nerovision.

So I decide to encode it with Cinema craft encoder sp 2.70. I use the NTSC dvd template from the menu. After the conversion I author the dvd with Dvd-Lab pro. When I see the result on my dvd player the image shake a lot.

Anywhone have an idea why cce sp dont make good quality video ??

What is the best software that I should use to convert my avi to mpeg2 ???

    Thanks

CCE makes excellent quality video hen it is configured correctly. It sounds like your field order has been reversed.

Given the file size of your source, it would seem to be uncompressed and therefore not transfered via firewire. DV is bottom field first when filmed and when transfered via firewire. However most analogue capture cards are top field first. I am assuming that you have captured using an analogue card.

If you still have the encoded mpeg files from CCE you can reverse the field order using ReStream without the need to re-encode the original.

If you don't, you can get them back from the DVD you have created using PGCDemux, then ReStream.

Next time you encode with CCE, make sure it is configured for the correct field order. The settings you need are on the Advanced dialogue.
