When importing .mpg files from a Sony DCRSR42 camera, no auidio track appears in the time line. I checked with GSpot and audio is AC3 2-channel stereo.
I am using Sony Vegas Movie Studio 6 platnum edition (only prog we have in our office). I can import the files fine on Vegas 6c at home. Is there a way to get AC# to import into Movie Studio 6? I don't need it to render AC3.
Does Vegas Movie Studio 7 import AC3? or will I have to get full Vegas for the office?

According to the Sony site, even version 7 doesn't import AC3 audio, except into the DVD Architect Studio portion.
You could use virtualdubmpeg2 to convert the audio to PCM, then import it.Read my blog here.
