I filmed a live 30 minute radio broadcast, which has live callers calling in. The xlr cable is comming out of the mackie and into the jvc camera. The aduio was overmodulated. Is there a way I can fix it,, so the callers don't sound so muffled? The video editing software I use is "Sony vegas movie studio 9 platinum" thank you?

You could try a high pass filter on the audio and kill some of the low frequencies and see it that helps. I don't know Vegas's audio capabilities, but you could also try the freeware audio editor Audacity and see if you can get some improvement there. With audio filtering, less is usually better. Sometimes you can make improvements, sometimes not.
Others here may have some better advice. If you could post a short representative audio clip, preferably in the native audio format, maybe ten seconds or so, you may get more help that way.
