Does anyone know of an authoring program (professional or consumer) that allows the user to author compliant mpeg-2 files simply by dropping into a predefined folder? For example, Canopus Procoder 2.0 allows the user to set up a "watch folder" that is constanly monitored for new files. When a file is pasted to the watch folder Procoder begins to convert it based on a user defined template. So, dropping a file into folder "x" would convert, say, an avi to mpeg-2 with 2 pass vbr encoding and noise removal. Or, dropping a file into folder "y" would convert an avi into wmv, etc...

Is there an authoring tool that has a similar setup? For example, dropping a compliant file into folder "x" would author an image with 5 minute chapter previews and a specific menu design. Or dropping a file into folder "y" would author an image with no chapters and no menu, etc...

    Thanks.

No. You could make a bat file using the command line tool dvdauthor that runs every x minute
