I'm looking for a HDV camcorder that has either a
component in
or
hdmi in
in order to record from an xbox/ps3 game console outputting at 1280*720 resolution. For portability reasons. Are there any consumer level camcorders with this feature?
Many older standard definition mini dv camcorders had the 1) record from analogue source feature and 2) analogue to digital pass-through:
I am looking for a similar feature but with a component in (analogue signal) or hdmi in (digital signal). I'm not too fussed about the pass-through, as long as it records the high definition video input onto the cams tape at the same resolution (1280*720).Analog-digital converter lets you share the precious video memories you have stored on analog videotapes. Simply feed the analog signal from your TV, VCR or analog camcorder to your HV10 to convert the signal to digital for recording on DV tape. Or use your HV10 as a signal converter by connecting it between an analog device and another digital device.

No. None that I have seen. Haven't seen one that does analog SD input either. Now we need two camcorders.
PS: If your quote is correct, the HV10 may get you 720x480i analog input.
