Anyone out there in VHLand have a Harmony 688 remote, and if so, are you experiencing the absolutely HORRIBLE battery life issues I'm having? I'm seeing my four brand new Energizers lasting less than two weeks. It didn't used to be this bad. Had the remote for about two years now, and it just started acting loopy with the battery life in the past 4 months. A Logitech support rep had me install the latest firmware, and that made the existing batteries (which were less than 2 weeks old, mind you) last a bit longer, and the dimming screen came back to life for a while, but now I'm back to a dimming, disappearing screen with my freshly installed batteries.
I love the remote, and I love the Harmony/Logitech programming scheme with its Activities, but if this is what I can expect from their hardware, I doubt I'll buy another Harmony remote when I scrap this one (which may be sooner rather than later).
Thanks!
Gary
